~ Why plant a tree?
Too long, book lovers have ignored where their books come from. Indeed, people rarely even associate books with trees!
Just Google deforestation and you will find information like these quotes below and much, much more!
‘In recent times, paper production has played a role in changing the world in other ways. The book industry alone required 3 million to 4 million tons of paper over just the last three years, which translates into the consumption of a lot of trees—at least 60 million worldwide, according to the nonprofit Green Press Initiative (GPI), including wood harvested in some of Earth’s most sensitive ecosystems, the Canadian boreal forest and the Indonesian rain forest among them.’
‘With the GPI reporting that the paper industry emits the fourth-highest level of C02 among manufacturers, these are not numbers the book industry can ignore, as there is widespread evidence of a correlation between the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere and global temperatures.’

As an environmentally friend publisher, we cannot add to this deforestation by creating more environmentally unfriendly print books, so by publishing sustainably resourced paperbacks and planting trees, we feel Wyrdwood Publications is helping to work towards a better future for us all.
~ Why isn’t every book you sell a ‘Green Leaves’ book?
Eventually, our goal is to have every book we sell a ‘Green Leaves’ book. The cost of each tree planted for our ‘Green Leaves’ books is taken from our percentage of the sale, after the author has been paid. We do this because we believe we should put something back to the very environment that sustains us.
Obviously, the more books we sell the more books will be ‘upgraded’ to ‘Green Leaves’ books and have trees planted.
So the more you buy from us, the more we can do to help the environment and deforestation together.
~ How do I know my payment information is safe?
We cannot see your payment information at any stage of a sale and as we only accept payments through PayPal (although you don’t have to have an account with Paypal to pay through them), they guarantee your information’s safety. Paypal process thousands of dollars every minute, so they have to ensure your privacy to keep their business going!
~ Will you be getting a bigger variety of books?
Yes, we are working very hard to bring new books to you every day.
We are negotiating with authors and potential authors, reading proposals for books, reading manuscripts for possible publication and working on publishing successful manuscripts.
We have several new books in various stages of development as you read this.
~ Do you take submissions?
We are always looking for new authors, so if you want to be published or know someone that does, please take a look at our Submission Guidelines.
We are also happy to take on unpublished authors and authors without agents, something that more mainstream publishers rarely, if ever, want to do.
