Wyrdwood Publications believes that environment awareness and the carbon footprint we create, are very important issues. With this in mind we have developed our own specific environmental policy. This commitment by Wyrdwood Publications is known as the Green Leaves Policy and it dictates all the 'green' aspects of our business.
Green Leaves Policy:
Wyrdwood Publications hereby attests that we shall continue to implement the following aspects of this, our 'green policy', with each and every 'Green Leaves' eBook (showing the logo above) that we publish, from this day forth.
eBooks:
As an eBook publisher we will provide online electronic downloads only, until a suitable and sustainable eco-friendly printing resource can be found for pBooks. Unlike many book publishers, we will not print nor store large quantities of stock anywhere. This unacceptable action often leads to huge amounts of paper and energy waste during the storage. We also will not use, nor require, a fleet of trucks to deliver large and often excessive quantities of products to shops. Thus we will help relieve the extra pressure on energy, paper and resources.
We shall remain an online publishing house only. There will be no warehouse, shop or any other energy sapping business premises. There will be no product brochures, catalogues, flyers or any other promotional materials not made from environmentally friendly sources.
Plant a Tree:
For EVERY 'Green Leaves' eBook we sell, a Tree is planted!
This process is enabled by our partnership with Eco-Libris, a wonderful company who is planting a tree for every 'Green Leaves' eBook YOU purchase. Eco-Libris is also, with your help, planting extra trees to balance out the millions of books already published. Please go to their website for more information on how you can balance out your books: http://www.ecolibris.net
Wyrdwood Publications has gone one step further then just planting trees for books, we have decided to plant trees for all our 'Green Leaves' eBooks! Thus we are planting extra trees to help compensate for all those books on bookshelves everywhere.
All 'Green Leaves' eBook are enabled for printing. We have allowed this only because we plant a tree for each one sold. All our other eBooks are not enabled for printing.
